Abstract

431,150. Drawing-frames. LANGEN, E., 208, L³rriperstrasse, Gladbach, Germany. Jan. 11, 1934, No. 1115. [Class 120 (i)] In a cotton-drawing frame a separate system of high draft is provided for each sliver or pair of slivers the slivers of each delivery being united to form a single sliver after they leave the front rollers of the drawing frame. The slivers are fed singly or in pairs through feed rollers b, c and a sliver distributer d, Fig. 1, to drafting mechanism comprising pairs of rollers e, f, g, h. Separate endless bands i, k are provided for each sliver or pair of slivers, Fig. 2, and are arranged round the rollers g and guide rollers r, s. After leaving the front rollers h the slivers are united at the funnel m. The frame unit for the three pairs of conveyer bands consists of longitudinal bars n and transverse walls o, Fig. 3, grooves p on the rollers g being accommodated in slots q in the walls o. The rollers r are loosely mounted on a common rod while each roller s is loosely mounted on a separate guide rod. The rollers r are jointly weighted by saddles v, v<1> resting on the common rod and weighted through a cord x and weight w.
