[Class 20 (iii)] The fixed metal frame of a door or window fitted to a cavity wall comprises members a, b, each adapted to form a hollow boxlike cover for the adjacent edge of the cavity. In the construction shown, the side members a are formed with flanges c, d, bearing against the walls of the cavity w, the flange d being shaped to overlap a portion of the plastic covering e of the wall. The upper member b is provided with laterally extending flanges f, g abutting against the surfaces of the wall opening. The lower member b may be similarly constructed or, as shown, it may be combined with a tile sill h to cover the cavity and may be shaped to receive one edge of a window board j. Flexible or plastic jointing material may be interposed between the flanges of the members a, band the wall to serve as a seal and to assist in holding the fixed frame in position.
