Abstract

313,299. Socle & Son, Ltd., and Knight, G. May 29, 1928. Door jambs; walls modified for door and window frames.-Door, window, and and like frames, are secured to structures by members comprising dovetail channel members b several of which are screwed to the door frame a, and two or more interlocking plates d nailed to the surface of the wall for each channel member. Architraves &c. g are applied to cover the joint so formed. A window frame is similarly secured to the wall opening and the joint is covered with wood, plaster, &c. keying with a recess in the outer edge of the frame. The jamb may be formed in two parts or sides having intermediate ornamental sliding panels. The door, hinged to its frame and with or without one of the architraves &c. attached thereto, may be sent out having the channels &c. secured to the jambs and ready for mounting. The jambs are connected at the base by a carpet board or sill h. The nails securing the plates d are preferably driven into the wall at right-angles to the stresses on the door frame.
