Abstract
Aviation motor spirit consists of gasolene and 10--30 per cent of methanol blended by a mixture of liquid oxygen-containing organic compounds boiling above methanol, or fractions thereof, obtained in the synthesis of methanol by catalytic hydrogenation of carbon monoxide under pressure. The gasolene, methanol, and blending agent are preferably anhydrous. A mixture of gasolene with 10 per cent of methanol is stable at --60 DEG C. if 6,5 per cent. of the 140--200 DEG C. or 7 per cent of the 104--200 DEG C. fraction of the blender is added thereto, and at --70 DEG C. if 7,1 per cent of the 140--200 DEG C. is used.
