Abstract

428,183. Valve amplifying circuits. BAUER GES., E., 10, Neckarstrasse, Unterturkheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Sept. 11, 1934, No. 26107. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1933. [Class 40 (v)] Photo - electric currents derived for example from sound films, are applied to a thermionic amplifier or the low frequency amplifier of a wireless receiver by means of a plug engaging one of the valve holders and connected to a unit incorporating or connected to the photo-electric cell and comprising a volume control and/or a preliminary amplifier. In Fig. 1, the sockets f of one of the valve holders of a receiver are engaged by a five-pin plug d, Fig. 3. By this means the additional amplifier g in the unit a is supplied with anode and heating voltages from the receiver and is coupled to the next receiver stage. The grid plug, engaging f1 is unconnected, the earth lead o being brought from the unit and earthed at the receiver. The cell h may be built into the unit a or may be connected thereto by a second cable. A volume control t, s is provided.
