Abstract
427,347. Weighing - apparatus. LECOCHE, J. J., Sudbrooke, and MONTGOMERY, A., 73, Richmond Road, both in Lincoln. Dec. 20, 1933, No. 35788. [Class 143] A weighing-apparatus for live or dead stock, of the type wherein a crate or pen D is suspended from a spring balance S or other type of weight-indicator and the weighing operation is performed by raising the spring balance or other weight-indicator until the crate or pen leaves the floor, is characterized by the provision of guiding means for preventing the crate from rocking, tilting, or rotating, without interfering with the accuracy of the weighing operation. The guiding means may consist of T-section bars on the crate entering channel bars C on the supporting framework, or vice versa, bearing balls being interposed. Alternatively, the guiding means may consist of parallel links connecting the crate and the framework. The crate is raised from the ground for a weighing operation by means of a handle lever L connected to the spring balance by a flexible cable F passing over a curved surface g. The apparatus may be moved from place to place by means of a pair of handles R (one shown detached) provided with ground wheels W and pivoted on pins X.
