Abstract

426,995. Rotary engines. SPHAEROGES., 17, Neue Gr³nstrasse, Berlin. Aug. 23, 1934, No. 24326. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1933. [Class 110 (ii)] An engine or pump of the inclined disc-piston type is provided with compartments 17, 18, between the inlet and outlet passages 13, 14 and the working-chamber, the size of a compartment being considerably larger than that of the working chamber. The compartments wind spirally around the working chamber, the walls 23 running almost parallel to the shaft 5. The inlet and outlet chambers are separated by a partition 11 fixed to the housing 2. A cylindrical pin 10 is slotted to fit on the partition 11, and fits into a piston 9 which oscillates between conical surfaces 7 on spherical ends 6 of the shaft 5. Between the surfaces 7 is provided a flattened globe 8 machined out obliquely to provide space for the piston.
