Convention date, Oct. 8, 1932. Addition to 412,433. [Class 38 (iv)] [See also Group XXXVII] In a system for automatic excitation control of a Ward Leonard generator a according to the parent Specification, a controller g is provided at the individual positions of which varying amounts of the resistance m<1> are connected in parallel with the anode circuit of the control discharge device n<1>, and different tappings of a voltage divider q connected across the generator armature, are connected to its grid. An initial opposing voltage from a battery o<1> may be applied to the grid of the discharge device n', and an initial voltage may also be applied to the grid of the discharge device e<1> through which the generator field is supplied.
