[Class 126] [See also Group XIII] A radiator stove consists of a portion containing water or other heating - medium and consisting of a central hollow hub 2 with hollow communicating vanes 1 radiating from it, together with a heater such as the burner 9, the hollow parts containing the heating-medium being sealed from entry of the gases given off by the heater. In the construction shown, the hub is traversed by a serpentine flue 3, the outlet of which is covered by a cowl 6 with a baffle 7 in it. In modifications, the flue 3 may be replaced by two serpentine flues in parallel, by a number of small diameter tubes, or by a flue provided with cross-tubes or thimbles. The vanes 1 may be corrugated or curved. The burner may, as shown, be mounted in a housing 8 forming the base of the stove. Tapped bosses may be provided so that the radiator may be used for circulating hot-water, steam or vapour through a heating system.
