[Class 107] The lid f of a rectangular manhole or like cover is supported at three of its corners by ledges b in the frame a and at the fourth corner by a vertically adjustable bolt or pin h secured to a ledge e, the adjustment being effected by removable packing-pieces j interposed between the ledge and the lower face of the head g of the bolt. The bolt may be secured in position by a nut k or it may be apertured to receive a padlock. In the construction shown, the lid is hinged to the frame, the hinge pin n fitting loosely in vertical recesses in the flanges of the frame.
