Abstract

489,507. Hearth curbs. HOGG, W. Feb. 3, 1937, No. 3144. [Class 126] In a hearth curb in which each end of the front bar 2 is provided with a plate 5 having projections 6 on opposite sides for slidable engagement in grooves 4 on opposite edges of a plate 3 (not shown) attached to a box 1 or seat member, a flange 8 on the plate covers the top or entrance end of the grooves. The flange 8 also lies over the adjacent face of the front bar, and ribs 7 receive the end of the bar. Engagement between the plates 3 (not shown), 5 may be made by a downward movement, as shown, by a horizontal movement, or, according to the Provisional Specification, by an upward movement. The front bar may be in three telescopic parts. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 412,654.
