[Class 38 (iii)] The brush - gear of an A.C. commutator motor is operated by a pilot motor controlled by limit switches and stops F, D, E, corresponding to the highest and lowest speeds, and an auxiliary limit switch B, operated by a member G moved into the path of a projection D on a moving portion C of the brush shifting mechanism, is provided whereby the movement of the brushes may be limited to a position lower than the normal top speed position when desired. In a modified arrangement an auxiliary stop on the part C operates on the member actuating the auxiliary limit switch.
