Abstract

370,710. Controllers. HOWARD & BULLOUGH, Ltd. and WILSON, W., Globe Works, Accrington. May 23, 1931, No. 15237. [Class 38 (iii).] Brake devices.-A handle 5, Fig. 5, when turned clockwise causes a slide 7 and rod 9 to move to the right, a projection 18 on the rod engages a detent 19 and moves a rod 4 upwards so as to press a control button into a box 1 and start the motor. The same movement of the handle causes a cam member 11, Fig. 1, attached to the slide 7 to release a brake 14. Reverse movement of the handle causes the projection 18 to engage another detent lying behind the detent 19, with consequent operation of the other control button in the box 1 and stoppage of the motor. The brake is reapplied during this reverse movement.
