Abstract

515,220. Actuation of switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and WISE, W. L. May 25, 1938, No. 15630. [Class 38 (v)] Sets of bridging contacts 4 are carried by a bar 3 which by means of an arm 5 can be slid along a frame 16 which can be moved by linkage 14, 15 towards or away from fixed contacts 2 arranged in groups on the base. The switch is operated by a lever 8 which can be swung in a plane parallel to the lid to select a group of contacts, and then moved away from the lid to move the frame 16 to cause the contacts to engage. Extreme movement of the arm 8 towards the lid causes a set of auxiliary contacts 10 to engage.
