Abstract

Preparations for the treatment of pernicious an mia are obtained by extracting liver or stomach substance with a neutral water soluble organic solvent, e.g. alcohol of about 60 per cent concentration in aqueous solution, separating the liquid from the solid and removing the organic solvent at a relatively low temperature. The extract may be evaporated to dryness and extracted with ether or alcohol, benzene &c. to remove lipoid substances.
