Abstract

423,468. Lenses. LEITZ GES., E., Optical Works, Wetzlar, Germany. Feb. 19, 1934, No. 5397. Convention date, March 9, 1933. [Class 97 (i)] Relates to lens systems for rapid objectives, of the kind comprising at least four members separated by air spaces, some of the members being compounded and at least two being dispersive meniscus members with their concave surfaces facing each other. According to the invention all the curved cemented surfaces in the dispersive members exert a collective action for all the colours of the visible spectrum when the rays incident on the first surface of the system are parallel, these cemented surfaces being less curved than the air-exposed surfaces of the said dispersive members and being convex towards the incident light. Data are given.
