Abstract

517,502. Lenses. KODAK, Ltd, Nov. 18, 1938, No. 33549. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1937. [Class 97 (i)] An attachment for a photographic objective comprises a light filter which absorbs the shorter wavelengths of the spectrum, and a lens system which reduces the chromatic aberration of the objective in that part of the spectrum which is transmitted by the filter. As shown, the attachment consists of a plano-convex lens 12 and a plano - concave lens 13 arranged with their plane surfaces facing each other and with the filter 14 cemented between them. Alternatively the use of a separate filter can be avoided by making one of the lenses of the filter material. The system 12, 13 has zero power for a single wave-length, e.g., for the D line, positive power for longer wave-lengths and negative power for shorter wave-lengths. Data are given.
