Abstract

151,506. Booth L, B. Nov. 26, 1919. Lenses.-Photographic and like objectives corrected for spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism, and curvature of field and having a relatively large aperture (F/3) consist of tiiree components separated by air spaces. The front component comprises a positive lens L<1> of high refractive index and low dispersion cemented to a negative L<2> of not greater refractive index. The middle component L<3> comprises a bi-concave negative lens of flint glass of refractive index less than that of the crown glass of lens L<1>, and the back component consists of a cemented lens similar to the front component, but reversed.
