144,932. Taylor, Taylor, &. Hobson, and Lee, H. W. Sept. 22, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Lenses.-Relates to telephotographic objectives composed of four lenses only, of which two are cemented together to form the front combination (shown on the right in Fig. 1), and two are cemented together to form the back combination, each separately achromatised; (a) the refractive index for the D-line of the negative flint lens in the front combination is greater than that of the positive crown lens by at least 0.047, neither index being less than 1.57; and (b) the refractive index of the positive lens of the back combination is equal to or greater than that of the negative lens. Optical data are given for two examples.
