[Class 23] [See also Group XII] Air-moistening apparatus comprises a casing 1 through which air is forced by a fan or propeller 2, water from a pipe 13 being sprayed by a disc 5, that which is collected in a channel 14 being conveyed to the fan for further spraying. A water layer of a height controlled by a level pipe 16 collects on a partition 6 beneath the fan and the overflow into the suction opening 6<a> is drawn upwardly to be again thrown out by the fan. The moistened air passes out through channels 23 of a distribution drum 18 in which water drops are intercepted. The water supply pipe 11 is carried through the lower part of the apparatus so that should freezing occur in cold weather the supply to the disc is cut off. A water filter 9<a>, and an air filter 7<a> and heater 8 are provided. In a modification the pipe 13 delivers water directly on to the fan, the disc 5 being omitted, and the distribution drum outlets comprise conical nozzles with drop-separating shoulders.
