Abstract

695,519. Wind motors. RIBEIRO, A. F. Aug. 15, 1951 [March 30, 1951], No. 19298/51. Class 110(iii) A wind motor comprises a convergent divergent duct 1 surrounding a co-axial member 4 of eggshaped configuration and a turbine wheel 5 arranged within the duct at the zone of flow of minimum cross-sectional area. Distributing blades 6 are arranged in front of the turbine wheel. A centrifugal governor 9 controls a brake shoe 10 co-operating with a drum 11. Alternatively the speed of the turbine may be controlled by a shutter adapted to blank off part of the air inlet.
