Abstract

421,660. Buoys. CAREY, W. L. DE M., 11, Byng Street, Millwall, London. July 21, 1933, No. 20561. [Class 68 (i)] A buoy is provided with a central slot in which a trunnion b is fitted to receive an anchoring bar d, rubbing blocks g being arranged on each side of bar d. Below partitions h is provided a solid counterweight of sand, metal &c., and a water counterweight may be provided below partitions j. The buoy may be of circular section, with or without a longitudinal fin, or of elliptical or ovate section. Fenders m, a ladder l, and a cover of matting, rubber, &c., with rope handles are provided. V-frames connected by a crossbar may be mounted on top of the buoy with ropes or bars swinging on the crossbar. The normal waterline is at or below the centre of the buoy. In a modification, the central trunnion is replaced by two trunnions, one at each end of the buoy, independent anchoring chains being attached to the trunnions.
