Abstract
421,239. Cycle brakes. ALLAN J. M., 104, Gray Street, Broughty Ferry, Dundee. April 3, 1934, No. 9994. [Class 136 (i)] Means for retaining the roller lever of a cycle brake in the operative position, (e.g. to prevent movement of the cycle when leaning against a wall, kerb, &c.), comprises an eccentric disc A pivotally mounted at B, on the lever arm or stop C, and provided with grooves A<1> out across its edge, the edges of one of which grooves (according to the adjustment of the brake) are engaged with the handle-bar by turning the disc A by hand when the lever is in the raised or operative position, thereby retaining the brake in the " on " position. The disc A is disengaged by first re-operating the brake lever.
