420,923. Vehicle wheels. FIRESTONE STEEL PRODUCTS CO., Main Street, Akron, Ohio, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Brink, W. S.; 502, South Firestone Boulevard, Akron, Ohio, U.S.A.) July 6, 1933, Nos. 19165 and 19166. Convention dates, Sept. 30, 1932 and March 8, 1933. Addition to 385,826 and 400,647. [Class 144 (ii)] Wheel rims of the kind described in the parent Specifications comprising an endless detachable side-flange 19 co-operating with a groove 14 in the base of the main rim-part 10 are provided with means, additional to the cut-away portions 23 on one or other of the rim-parts, to facilitate manipulation of the detachable flange. As shown, the flange is formed with a slot 24 adjacent one of the recessos 23 to receive a lever 22 for forcing the flange over the lip 13 of the rim-base. To facilitate displacement of the flange 19 into the groove 14, a coned surface 17 is provided between the bottom of the groove and the ledge 16 on which the flange seats in use.
