Detachable - rim attachments to wheels; tyre attachments to rims.-A detachable tyre-carrying rim i of the split-ring type, is formed of thin metal so that under load it is distorted into jamming engagement with the flanges b, d of the fixed rim a, the flanges j of the rim i being of such shallow depth that the tyre edges are also forced into engagement with the flanges of the fixed rim. The rim i may be formed with a convexity n (or a series of grooves) which becomes flattened when the tvre is under load. The flanges b, d may be recessed to take the flanges j. The flange b is shown secured by a split-ring f co-operating with registering grooves in the rim-parts a, b.
