419,828. Book - stitching machines. POLLAK, J. E., 20, Holborn, London.- (Brehmer, Geb. ; Plagwitz, Leipsic, Germany.) May 20, 1933, No. 14658. [Class 112.] Book signatures are moved from an endless chain conveyer 33 of a book-stitching machine to the oscillating stitching saddle s by a cam actuated fork 12. The cam 38 is such that the movement of the fork is suddenly accelerated to complete the transfer of the signatures. The conveyer is in alignment with the work laying-on position of the saddle and the latter is formed with a beak 23 to facilitate the transfer of the work. Pasting is effected by a roller 21 which contacts with a supply roller 20 and may be automatically controlled by a counting mechanism.
