[Class 16.] A manifolding carbon-pack comprises a series of carbon sheets each having a reinforcing-strip of material extending across one end, the strips having projecting portions extending clear of the carbon sheets and being secured to a backing-sheet arranged below the carbon sheets. The backing-sheet 1, preferably of strong paper, is wider than the record sheets and the carbon sheets 2, to each of which is fastened a cross-strip 3, the ends thereof being secured to the marginal edges 5 of the sheet 1 so that the central portions are left unsecured for a width slightly greater than that of the record sheets, in order that these can be suitably threaded through the pack. The cross-strips 3 may be attached to the carbon sheets at an edge which is free of carbon material by doubling a strip round an edge and gumming it thereto. A reinforcing-cord may be inserted into the folded edge of the strip 3 to form a more-rounded edge and when no edge of the carbon sheet is free from copying-material holes may be punched therein at intervals and the folded strip 3 when gummed to the edge then interlocks therewith through these apertures. The strips 3 are mounted on the sheet 1 in slightly offset relationship. When the top sheet to be typed is a separate letter sheet, the bottom edge 12 of the backing-sheet 1 forms with the adjacent carbon sheet or pocket into which the edge of the letter sheet may be inserted, and in order to provide a stop for the inserted sheet, the first carbon sheet may be attached throughout its width to the backing-sheet 1.
