Abstract
440,510. Filing papers; indexing. SOUTHEY, A. W., and SOUTHEY, E., 32, Carleton Road, Tufnell Park, London. Sept. 24, 1934, No. 27314. [Classes 16 and 146 (i)] [See also Group XVII] A letter file of book form comprises sheets of paper folded in half to form two pages and with the edge turned over at the bottom of each page to form a pocket C, Fig. 1, for the letters to be filed. The pockets are joined to the pages only at the outer edge, and inset tabs E are provided to separate the letters in the two sides of each pocket. The upper edges F of the pages may also be turned over to strengthen the file. The file may comprise separate sheets or a continuous zigzag folded sheet, the backs of the pages being united at points L, Fig. 3, spaced from the folds K, so that room is allowed for expansion. Blank index tabs H may be provided on the edges of the leaves opposite a strip index G attached to the back cover B of the file.
