Abstract
178,995. Wann, E. M., and Howard, C. L. Feb. 18, 1921. Bookbinding.-A binder for invoices, circulars, leaflets, letters, catalogues, music, or the like, of the kind comprising a binding-strip formed with a series of adhesive tabs arranged closely together side by side, comprises a folder or cover A provided with one or more binding-strips B, each having a series of narrow adhesive tabs C formed by cutting the strip B laterally from one edge without intervening notches, two or more of the tabs are used to attach each invoice &c. to the folder A. The strips B may be attached to the folder A by a series of tabs or by a continuous strip along one edge, and may be arranged along the fold A<1>, Fig. 1, of the folder A, or along any of the edges A<2>, A<3>, A<4>, or midway between and parallel to the edges A<2>, A<4> or to the edge A<3> and fold A<1>. Auxiliary strips B may have an additional fold E, Fig. 6. The strips B may be formed by passing strip material between cutting discs or rollers to form the tabs C, then between gumming and creasing rollers, and finally into contact with knives to sever the lengths B.
