419,394. Nonconducting coverings for heat. LLOYD, A. M., 16, Earlsway, Curzon Park, Chester, and WILLIAMS, W. G., 11, Durban Avenue, Christleton, near Chester. Aug. 1, 1933, No. 21587. [Class 64 (ii).] A hot water cylinder or tank is heatinsulated by providing a number of longitudinal distancestrips a threaded together by cords b, and a jacket d, e, f, containing an insulating material j such as granulated cork. The jacket may comprise fabric portions d, e, and a cardboard or sheet metal portion f. The part d may be turned in as shown and bound by a cord if some radiation is desirable, or it may be extended as in dotted lines if maximum insulation is desired. The portion f may have overlapping edges and be secured by straps, and the upper portion e may be closed by a cord tied around the water outlet pipe h. The distance-strips a may be omitted as shown, if one side of the tank is near a wall.
