Abstract
418,918. Fuse bases. WOODS, R. S., 372, Dickenson Road, Longsight, Manchester. June 1, 1933, No. 15805. [Class 38 (i).] A pivoted member 16, Fig. 6, carrying a fuse cartridge 17 in a recess 20 and a base member 13 fitted with spring contacts 15 have co-operating abutments 26, 27 so arranged that the carrier 16 may be raised sufficiently for the fuse cartridge to be replaced but not sufficiently to give free access to the contacts 14, 15. In a modified structure, Fig. 7, in which a number of fuse elements are mounted in an ironclad box 36, the abutments 26 on the carriers engage the edges of slots 41 in a plate member 39. The diameter of the recess 20 is such that the insertion of a fuse of larger capacity is prevented. The carrier may be held normally in its closed position by means of a spring.
