Abstract
264,205. Linebarger, C. E. Sept. 17, 1925. Charge indicators.-Recesses 17 of restricted length are provided in the edges of some of the plates or separators of secondary batteries to accommodate hydrometric balls 20 or a device to indicate when a predetermined temperature has been reached in charging the battery. If the plates or separators do not extend to the battery casing, local projections are made on them to confine the indicators, for example a receptacle 29, Fig. 10, may be formed on the edge of the plate 18. A number of hydrometric units may be arranged at different levels, as shown in Fig. 1. The temperature indicator may comprise a bulb 32, Fig. 13, containing two liquids. 33, 34, for example, carbon bisulphide and methyl alcohol, which are visibly separate below, but mix together at, the predetermined temperature.
