Abstract
320,903. Three Star Accumulators, Ltd., and Grund, F. C. July 25, 1928. Gas exits; cells.-A battery is provided with a gas exit comprising concentric tubes s, t, the latter of which depends into a chamber v having openings x which are above the level of the electrolyte, in all positions of the cell. The tubes s, tare carried by the plug q which may be provided with an external chamber y. A partition b extends parts across the cell to retain the electrolyte in contact with the plates d when the cell is stood upon its side. To ensure that the electrolyte covers the plates in both positions of the cell, the capacity of the latter is adjusted by a chamber n which may be provided with an opening o to allow for the expansion of the enclosed air.
