Abstract

310,570. Manley, J. W. Feb. 2, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Couplings combined with electric switches. A number of electric cells in a partitioned box are connected in series by Z-shaped members 4 each having a horizontal portion 5 on which a cell stands, and a pivoted tongue 7 which engages the centre contact of the adjacent cell. Hooks 6 on the members 4 engage the upper ends of the partitions in the box. When the lid of the box is open the cells are connected in series. The lid, when closed, depresses extensions 10 on the tongues 7 and raises the latter and breaks the contacts between the cells. Specification 260,322, [Class 53, Galvanic batteries], is referred to.
