Cards.-Index cards a are provided with one or more index-slip carriers c, preferably of metal, secured thereon, the carriers being divided into a number of compartments e separated from each other by ribs or ridges f resting on the cards. The raised portion of the compartments is slotted as shown at g, and the inserted index slips bearing names &c. are held in position by depressions k formed in the metal. The carriers may be secured to the cards by rivets d, or by tangs passing through slits and flattened against the back of the cards. The depressions k may be dispensed with.
