Abstract

417,747. Discharge lamps. PATENTTREUHAND - GES. FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN, 11, Ehrenberg. strasse, Berlin. Dec. 20, 1933, No. 35896. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] A portable electric standard lamp for decoration and advertising comprises two differently coloured, bent discharge tubes 18, 19 freely extending from a supporting pedestal 1 and connected in series at 16 in a metal or insulating case 10 supported from the tubes. The pedestal may contain a strayfield transformer 13, or, if the discharge tubes have incandescent electrodes so that they ignite at mains voltage, may contain only resistances. One tube may be filled with neon giving red light and the other with neon, argon and mercury giving blue light, or green light in combination with a brown or green glass tube. The tubes 18, 19 may be formed from a single tube by a longitudinal, spirally twisted partition as shown.
