417,490. Preserving food. ZOELLY, H., 9, Traugottstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Dec. 11, 1933, No. 34807. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 11, 1934.] [Class 49.] Foodstuffs are preserved by enclosure in vessels from which the air is then completely extracted at a temperature not above 17‹ C. or below -3‹ C. and the vessels sealed off airtight and stored at about 0‹C. A storage vessel 1 used is of sheet metal, glass &c. and has a removable cover 2 on which is mounted a tube 3 for connection with the air extraction apparatus, the tube being sealed off after each exhaustion by fusing or welding up, or a cock or valve may be used instead.
