Abstract
416,198. Photographic sensitive materials. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Oct. 16, 1933, No. 28579. Convention date, Oct. 15, 1932. [Class 98 (ii).] A photographic film, the support of which is provided with lenticular elements on the opposite side to the sensitive layer, has an antihalation layer, consisting of a dye or pigment which is decolourized in the photographic treatment baths, interposed between the lightsensitive layer and the support. Suitable dyes for the antihalation layer are those described in Specifications 383,799 and 399,387, the azo dyes from sodium-#-naphtholate or 1:7- amino-naphthol with diazotized naphthylamine, dianisidine, or benzidine being specified. As pigments silver, formed by adding hydrazine to a solution containing silver nitrate, ammonia, and gelatin, and glassmaker's soap are mentioned. The layer absorbs from 5 per cent to 25 per cent of the light, and if the absorption is such as to interfere with the correct recording of the colour values, other dyes may be added to the layer to compensate for this. Specification 312,992, [Class 98 (ii)], also is referred to.
