Abstract

1,151,368. Photo-sensitive diazotype materials. KALLE A.G. Oct. 26, 1966 [Oct. 27, 1965], No.48111/66. Heading G2C. A two-component diazotype material giving a black copy contains a light-sensitive layer containing a diazotized p -phenylene diamine, a first coupler which couples to give a blue dye, a second coupler which couples to give a yellow dye and an ultraviolet absorber in a range which overlaps the range of ultraviolet light absorption of the diazonium compound and which is a pyrazoline derivative of formula where R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen or an alkyl radical with up to 6 carbon atoms. The second coupler is preferably of formula: where R 3 is a -COCH 3 , -CONH 2 , -CSNH 2 or a -CNHNH 2 group and the first coupler is preferably 2-hydroxy -3-naphthoic acid amide. The lightsensitive layer is preferably coated on transparent support such as cellulose acetate, polyester or polycarbonate films or transparentized paper. The maximum absorption of the ultraviolet absorber should be of a shorter wavelength than the diazonium compound to give a greater gradation.
