Abstract
493,952. Photographic colour developers. KODAK, Ltd. (Eastman Kodak Co.) April 23, 1937, No. 11621. Addition to 458,664. Drawings to Specification. [Class 98 (ii)] Developers for producing colour comprise an aromatic amino compound acting as a developing agent and a compound which combines with the oxidation product of the developer to form a coloured body, the compound being one of the following bodies: 1:4 - di - (acetoacetamino)benzene, acetoacetbenzylamide, 2 - acetoacetamino - 4- phenylthiazole, 2 - acetoacetamino - 4 - methyl- 5 - carbethoxy - thiazole, 2 - acetoacetamino - 4 - (1 - coumaronyl) - thiazole, 2- cyanacetamino - anthraquinone, o - chloracetoacetanilide, p - hydroxyacetoacetanilide. The developing agent may be an aminophenol, aminocresol, a halogen derivative of these, an aminonaphthol, a substituted or unsubstituted p-phenylene diamine, for example, diethyl - p - phenylene diamine, mono- or di - methyl - p - phenylene diamine or oamino-diethylaniline. Curves showing the absorption characteristics of the dyes formed when 2 - acetoacetamino - 4 - methyl - 5- carbethoxythiazole and 2 - acetoacetamino- 4-phenylthiazole are used, are given in the Specification. Specifications 427,472, 427,516, 427,520, 440,032, 440,089, 447,092, 475,784, and 475,786 are referred to.
