Gorgas Lane, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) Nov. 1, 1933, No. 30388. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1932. [Class 40 (v).] The triode portion of a diode-triode valve 1 is used as a high frequency amplifier, the signals from the source M1 being applied to the grid 4, and the output from the anode 5 is fed through a condenser C<1>1 to the parallel connected diode anodes D1, D2 for rectification. The D.C. component of the rectified output in the load resistance R<1>1 produces automatic volume control potentials, and the A.C. component is amplified by means not shown.
