Abstract
415,020. Hair curling and waving appliances. KLAFTER, 1., 111, Oudegracht, Utrecht, Holland. Nov. 12, 1932, No. 32039. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 19, 1933]. [Class 131.] A hair curler comprises a rod consisting of a U-shaped wire a, Fig. 2, the limbs of which are provided with rubber sleeves b, b<1> and are secured together adjacent the spaced outer ends c, d by a ring g, and a pair of rubber bands f secured to the bend e of the wire a, and adapted to be engaged over the rod. The bands f may be replaced by a flat rubber strip, the centre of which is engaged by the bend e and the free ends of which are provided with holes adapted to be engaged over the ends c, d of the limbs. In a modification, the limbs, the ends of which are not spaced apart, are covered by a single rubber sleeve over the end of which the holes in the rubber band are adapted to engage. In use, the end of the tress is secured to the rod by one of the rubber bands or strips, and the tress is then wound on the rod and secured by the other band or strip. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the rod is curved and is provided with a single rubber band f, the tress being placed over the convex side of the rod and secured by the band f.
