Abstract
413,757. Cathode-ray tubes. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London, and LADNER, A. W., Danbury, Essex. Jan. 26, 1933, No. 2574. [Class 39 (i).] A cathode-ray tube is provided with a system for deflecting the ray in one direction and a plurality of independent systems each capable of deflecting the ray in a direction different from the first mentioned direction, and adapted to produce equal deflections for like values of applied deflecting potential. The systems may consist of a pair of plates NP and of additional pairs of trian - gular plates a, b, Fig. 1, or of three or more pairs of rectangular plates a, b, c, Fig. 2 ; the total area of the additional plates may be equal to that of the plates NP. The additional pairs may be used for examining a plurality of waves simultaneously, the plates NP providing the time base. To obtain equal deflecting action, deflecting systems may be formed by coupling the plates a, c located at opposite ends. In a modification, the plates may be hollow and located one within the other.
