Abstract
413,334. Sliding - clasp fastenings. LONGMORE, C. F., 100, Shortheath Road, Erdington, Birmingham, and LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd., Imperial Chemical House, Millbank, London. Jan. 13, 1933, No. 1265. [Class 44.] In a fastener of the kind in which fastener elements on two stringers are brought into interlocking engagement by a slider moving over the two sets of elements and in which the elements 2 are concealed by bands or strips 5 lying thereover, the slider is locked in any position by the concealing bands or strips 5 being gripped between the upper face of the slider and a substantially flat plate member 6 pressed thereon. The plate may be pressed by cams 13 formed on the lugs by which the operating tab 10 is mounted on the slider ; by attaching the tab to a member such as a pin 15 passing through and fixed to the rear member of the slider the plate also grips the interlocking elements within the slider. Alternatively the plate may be pressed down by means of a finger-knob engaging a quick-threaded screw.
