Abstract

685,008. Making sliding-clasp fasteners. CIRKET, H. F. E. Oct. 8, 1951 [Oct. 23, 1950], No. 25784/50. Class 83 (ii). [Also in Group XXV] A slider for a sliding clasp fastener of the kind comprising interengaging strips of resilient material is formed from a blank, Fig. 10, the wing portions 19, 20 being folded at rightangles to the portion 21 to provide spaced plates, the margins 19a, 20a being bent down to form diverging flanges to engage the strips. The portion 22 is arched and secured between the plates by lugs 26 welded in slots 27 therein and the portion 23 is bent back against the arched portion 22, as shown in Fig. 7. The plate parts 19, 20 are curved in their longitudinal axis and a pull tag is attached to a bail 24 pressed out of the plate 20. Specification 681,941, [Group XXV], is referred to.
