677,403. Sponges. HERMAN, J. M., and ARCURI, D. Nov. 2, 1950. No. 26780/50. Class 131. An incision formed in a face or edge of a sponge extends into the sponge a sufficient distance to form a pocket, a closure means being disposed at the opening of the pocket. As shown, the sponge 1 is provided with a pocket to receive a soap tablet 3 and closed by a sliding clasp fastener 2. In modifications a flap is formed by a partial transverse cut near one end of the sponge or by securing a flap of flexible material to one end of the sponge, the flap being held covering the opening of the pocket by press button fasteners.
