[Class 7 (iii).] Means for regulating the supply of aerating air to the jet of a carburetter simultaneously with the adjustment of the throttle, in which, after the throttle has been fully opened, further movement of the operating-lever reduces the supply of aerating air without operating the throttle. Fuel enters the jet d at e and is aerated by air which enters through slots g, g<1> and perforations f. The slots are controlled by slots i in a ring h, which is rotated by a rod k connected to an adjustable extension n of a lever m. During idling, the slots i and g, g<1> register to admit the maximum amount of aerating air, and as the operating-lever p opens the throttle through a spring, a cam o turns the lever m and the rod n to cover partly the slots g. Further movement of the lever p, when the throttle is fully open, completely closes the slots g, and the fully open position of the throttle is rendered noticeable by a yielding stop member. The ring h may be displaced independently of the throttle by a Bowden wire q carrying a ball r which engages with an extension a on the lever m. The ring h may be connected directly to the accelerator pedal, and the throttle connected to the lever p.
