[Class 59.] A crusher having a movable jaw and a fixed or yielding jaw is characterized in that the jaws are located one over the other and form an inclined crushing gap, the lower movable jaw is oscillatable about two points of support located in the neighbourhood of the inlet end and of the outlet end respectively, and the movable jaw is given simultaneously with the closing movement a movement following in the feeding direction of the material, i.e., toward the outlet. In Fig. 2 the moving jaw 2 is oscillated by an eccentric 3 passing through the jaw and the lower end is supported on a rocking arm 4. The position of the eccentric and rocking arm may be interchanged. In Fig. 6, the rockers 9, 10 support each end of the moving jaw which is oscillated by a connecting rod 12 operated by an eccentric 11. The moving jaw may be given an acceleration, during the closing movement, such that the material sliding down the jaw during the opening of the gap receives, during the closing of the gap a throwing movement toward the delivery end.
