Abstract
201,412. Sandycroft, Ltd., and Bullock, W. Aug. 2, 1922. Crushers with vibrating jaws.-Relates to machines for crushing ores, rocks, &c. and of the type in which the ore &c. is crushed between two jaws one of which may be stationary while the other is mounted on a pivot at its lower end and actuated by toggle mechanism operated by an eccentric shaft. The movable jaw has its lower end mounted on an eccentric shaft so arranged as to produce a compound movement of the jaw, the lower portion or discharge thereof being operated by the eccentric shaft while the upper portion is operated by the toggle mechanism. As shown, a shaft o passing through the lower end of the movable jaw b is provided with a pair of spaced eccentrics d rotating in bushes e at the lower end of the jaw, and an eccentric f, preferably placed at ninety degrees to the eccentrics d, operates a pitman g which operates the toggle mechanism h for effecting the closing of the jaw. During the downward movement of the pitman, the jaw b is opened by means of a tension rod k slidably mounted in the transverse rear stay l of the frame and engaging with a spring buffer m.
