Abstract

162,082. Conder, C. M., and Vivian, G. T. Jan. 24, 1920. Vibrating-hammer apparatus.-In an ore stamping or crushing machine in which the stamp head swings in a circular path, the head 6 is curved to coincide with the path in which it moves, and is secured to one end of two bars 8 which are pivoted at the opposite end and operated by a cam 14 mounted on a shaft 15 beneath the bars. The bars 8 are preferably of channel section and the head is secured by bolts 9. The pivot ends of the bars 8 are fastened to a common eye-piece through which passes a shaft 11 mounted in bearings 12. A cross-bar 13 on the underside of the bars 8 against which the cam 14 bears is adjustable by means of wedges 17 operated by nuts 18 on threaded rods formed on the wedges. The mortar-box 1 is provided with an anvil block 2 and detachable screens 3, and water is supplied by a valved pipe 4. The head 6 is fitted with a renewable shoe 7 secured by a spigot portion.
